High expectations due to the positive reviews. Unfortunately, they weren't met. The house suffered extensive damage (broken walls, baseboards, broken window, and ceiling. Damage in both houses). In addition, a lot of packing was mixed up, boxes weren't placed in the right rooms, and a moisture-filled dehumidifier was placed in a box with shoes. All those kinds of inconvenient situations. Makken handled the damage efficiently and without any hassle. After all, the insurance covers the damage. However, they told us they would tell the insurance company they agreed that the window damage was their fault. Later, the insurance report revealed they had told a different story. The window damage was actually their fault. An hour before their arrival, a window covering specialist had installed Duettes on the window. This custom-made window covering was installed on the window. It couldn't be installed if the window was broken. The window covering specialist also confirmed that the window was intact after his departure. We didn't enter the room ourselves after the window coverings were installed. Only Makken. All in all, we found it a very unpleasant experience and asked Makken for a small compensation (about €100-150) so we could move the cabinet they had left downstairs upstairs ourselves by renting a special machine. We felt this was a reasonable compensation considering all the inconvenience. Unfortunately, they refused. It's a shame, because then this review would have been more positive.
We've had excellent experiences with Makken. Communication is accurate and fast. The costs are immediately clear when you book your move, and you receive a quote. The movers are knowledgeable, customer-friendly, and flexible. I highly recommend this moving company.
